Fundraising

“We are #1, but we’re not done!” The LCTA PTA is dedicated to making our school the very best it can be by helping each and every student thrive. We cannot do it alone...we need you! The #1 reason to join the PTA is to support your student and our entire school community. By joining you are making a commitment to support all our great work!

-Dr. Zissios

Our fundraising goal for 2023-2024 is a focus once again on each and every student with an emphasis on character and community building.

a look at 2022-2023...

In the 2022-23 School Year, the PTA:

  • Organized the book fair and raised over $6,000 to help replenish books in the ROARing Readers machine (another PTA funded enrichment item).

  • Raised $8,400 to benefit Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and King Street Cats through the annual Animal Benefit Show.

  • Funded student assemblies, including Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Earth Dome, Skate for Life, SkyDome Planetarium, Little Red and the Big Bully Wolf, Alice in Wonderland.

  • Helped support and fund transportation for 5th grade field trip to Philadelphia, and stocked buses with snacks for our students.

  • Purchased cupcakes, cookies, photo booth, and organized the 5th grade promotion.

  • Helped organize gifts and birthday acknowledgment through our class liaisons, sponsored luncheons, celebrated appreciation days (principal, vice principal, social worker, nurse, school counselor, admin professional day), and sent small but thoughtful appreciation gifts and snacks to support and staff to let our teachers know how much we appreciate them! The PTA also purchased spirit clothing for teachers as a beginning of the year gift. We believe in "students first" but happy teachers lead to happy learning which lead to happy kids!

  • Organized and stocked a ‘Treat Trolley’ for staff that was taken around every month for staff to grab a quick yummy treat.

  • Worked tirelessly to publish the annual yearbook, a keepsake for all students at LCTA.

  • Hosted International Night, the Reflections arts program, set up and managed the Uniform Locker, and ran Sprout School supplies, amongst countless other programs for our community.

and previous years...

The PTA has been responsible for a new water filtration system in our halls, smart boards in the classrooms, individual Chromebooks to all students in grades 3 through 5, AV equipment for our students, STEM kits, state-of-the- art sound system in the Multi-Purpose Room, renovating the teacher/staff lounge, and the list goes on and on.
