Attention Rising Sixth Grade Families
Academic advising for rising 6th grade students will begin in early February and conclude March 19th.
Please mark your calendar with the following dates from George Washington Middle School:
GWMS Virtual Open House for Rising 6th Grade Parents and Caregivers
January 27th, February 17th, and March 17th from 9:00am-10:00am
GWMS Virtual Electives Fair
February 3rd from 5:30pm-7:30pm
“A GW Glimpse” Virtual Field Trip
February 10th from 9:00am-10:00am
Additionally, Mrs. Bustard will make a presentation about the middle school transition, followed by Q&A, at our February PTA General Membership meeting. February 10 at 7 pm.
Mrs. Bustard will focus upcoming lessons on the academic advising process and will share more information and updates as the academic advising period approaches. Join NAMI Northern Virginia for a free virtual educational presentation and learn the warning signs of mental health conditions in children and teens as well as how to work with school staff, healthcare providers and your child to get the best support. The event includes a time for a Q&A with Dr. Kynai Johnson (Alexandria City Public Schools) and Dr. Kirimi Fuller (Department of Community and Human Services).
