Back to School Picnic @ LCTA Playground Friday, September 9th 5:30 - 7:30 pm Come kick off the new school year with us! The LCTA PTA invites you to our Back to School party on Friday, September 9th. Bring your own picnic-style food and drinks and enjoy fun times with great friends old and new. There will be music by DJ Adolf Wright as well as Kona Ice for sale. The Uniform Locker will also be available at this time.
Uniform Locker September 9th, 5:30-7:30pm September 19th, 8am - 3pm September 20th, 8am - 3pm The Uniform Locker has gently used uniforms for no charge (this is not an exchange: a donation of clothing is not required to make a selection). The Uniform Locker is located to the left of the main entrance to the school; its entry door faces the parking lot. This will be self service, so you can come at your leisure during these times and pick whatever you need. The racks and bins will be outside of the uniform locker room. Remember to bring your own shopping bags! If you came once before and couldn’t find what you needed, you should be able to find items this time around. We are pretty well-stocked with most sizes except for size 8. The bigger sizes generally have fewer items, but we do have some clothing in all sizes from 4/5 all the way through 14+. CAN I DONATE CLOTHING? If you have any donations in a size 6/7 OR BIGGER of any item, you’re welcome to bring them for donation during our September dates and hang them up or put them in the appropriate bin. Please don’t drop anything off at the front office until further notice so we can keep the locker clean, organized and accessible. * Friendly reminder that LCTA is a uniform school and all students must adhere to the uniform policy.
LCTA School Tour Monday, September 12th *** UPDATED START TIME 4:30PM *** Signup for a guided walkthrough of the school. We'll visit the library, gym/Multipurpose Room (MPR), cafeteria, art room, new music room, and highlight some of the PTA additions (renovated staff lounge, water fountains, book vending machine, classroom rugs, tubano drums, lego wall, art frames, MPR wall mats, etc.). Back to School Night! (Parents/guardians only) Thursday, September 15th 6:30 PM – 8 PM Parents/guardians are invited to come to the school in person to meet your child(ren)'s individual teacher(s)! This is a structured event, where teachers will repeat 3 identical 30 minute sessions in a group setting. You can pick which 30 minute slot to attend. This allows you the flexibility of choosing what time slot you want to come to in that window, and parents/guardians of multiple children will be able to attend sessions with multiple teachers without missing out on any info!
Scholastic Book Fair! Monday, September 19th - Thursday, September 22nd Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. AND… as always, every book they buy earns rewards for our school. The Book Fair will be offered in person at the school for all students, and with the option to purchase online, as well. More information coming soon...
Book Fair Pizza Night Tuesday, September 20th 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM Please join us for our extended Book Fair shopping and dinner event! Pizza will be available for sale. Eat from 5:30 pm - 7 pm. Shop the Book Fair until 7:30 pm.
REFLECTIONS PROGRAM 2022-23 Applications Open! Theme: SHOW YOUR VOICE! DEADLINE: OCTOBER 28TH, 2022 Applications are now open for the Reflections competition. This competition provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2022-2023 theme: “Show Your Voice!"
