At LCTA we often talk about the unique and special community we enjoy. Our beloved Nurse Jasmine Wood, Kenneth Wood, and their two wonderful boys are facing uncertainty in their lives. Kenneth was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in early October 2018. Please join our PTA in rallying our support behind Nurse Wood and her family in a difficult time in their lives. Let’s see the power of our community at work!
Walk-a-Thon! – Thank you!
Fundraising will remain open through the Prize Assembly on November 16th. This prize assembly is geared to the children (as opposed to parents). The children will hear from a Founding Member of Alexandria Families For Safe Streets and classes, grades and individuals will be celebrated for their walk-a-thon participation.
Class Photos for all those who ordered them will be distributed after the upcoming Thanksgiving break.
Boxtops! AND Passive Fundraising
Keep sending them in to your classrooms. Every classroom has a container. It is an easy way for us to raise money for our school!

Don’t forget to check out the suggested ways to honor our veterans on the back of the November Community Service Log. You can do these activities anytime this month or whenever works for your family.
Also, if you have any interest in providing or delivering baked goods to our very own first responders at Alexandria’s police station or fire departments, please be in touch with Molly at mollyghollis@icloud.com. We are aiming to visit our first responders after school on Thursday, December 20th. So even if you can’t join in the delivery, we hope you will consider bringing in baked goods.
Teacher Breakfast
Each month the PTA sponsors a breakfast for our teachers at LCTA. This month, the 2nd grade will host the breakfast. Please sign up for what you can bring! Items need to be delivered to the office the afternoon before or before 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the breakfast. Thank you so much!
