Progressive Dinner...

Was a smashing success!  THANK YOU to our organizer Elena Aida, our hosts and their crews: The Reeds, The Voborils, The Goldens, and The Whites!  So wonderful of them to open up their homes to our community to gather and enjoy a night out.

Thank you from the Mighty Declan and his family!

Thank you for your donations in support of Declan for the Washington, DC, One Small Step for Prader-Willi Syndrome walk.  This year's walk was our best yet -- over 160 participants!  We were thrilled to have many local friends and family join us, including a group from Declan and Cillian's school, and over 20 local PWS families.  And Declan hit a new personal best for fundraising -- almost $13,000!  The DC walk overall is closing in on $50,000!

All of the funds raised go towards research -- thank you so very much for helping us take "One Small Step" towards eliminating the challenges of Prader-Willi Syndrome!

Thank you again!

Allison, Brandon, Declan & Cillian

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Joseph Farran will be the new assistant principal of Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy, beginning August 2019.  Mr. Farran is an experienced educator with over 20 years of service as an elementary teacher, assistant principal and principal.  He has worked at various schools in both Fairfax County, VA and in West Virginia.  We look forward to having him join the LCTA family.

Governor Northam and Board of Education Announces 2019 Virginia Index of Performance Awards - LCTA earns the Virginia Board of Education Excellence Award

Lyles-Crouch has earned the Board of Education Excellence Award, the second-highest honor in the Virginia Index of Performance program. We are only one of 90 schools in all of Virginia, and the ONLY school in ACPS to receive this recognition.  We believe our success is directly related to our use of the rigorous Core Knowledge curriculum. The school has also met all state and federal accountability benchmarks and made significant progress toward goals for increased student achievement.

Legacy T-Shirts

T-shirts designed by our fifth grade students are available for sale. A few last chances for purchase! Look for the PTA table selling shirts outside school on Thursday @7:30am.  Order forms are being sent home to 5th grade students in this week's Wednesday folders.  If you have still missed out and want a t-shirt, feel free to print and submit (to your child's teacher or box in the front office) the order form (link below).  The cost is $15 a shirt (cash, charge or check).

Order Form (through Friday June 14)

Yearbook

The yearbook is complete and it truly is a work of Art this year; from the awe inspiring cover designed by our own resident artist Elena Aida, to the “walk on the wild side” theme. Our yearbook crew (Melissa Carstens, Becky Voboril and Kristen Quinlan-Boyce) did an outstanding job this year and we are so grateful for all the time and energy they committed to this project.

Order Online (through Thursday June 6)
