VISION & VALUES
Parents play a crucial role in their child's education in the community of LCTA. From the first day of Kindergarten to 5th Grade graduation, parent involvement is key to student success, and the advancement of the community as a whole. Parents and guardians are invited to campus frequently to take an active role in our community, from after-school events to performances to volunteering. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Lyles seeks to enhance the vision and goals of the school by volunteering, by providing opportunities for parents to connect with each other, and by participating in various fundraising activities.
The PTA is served by a Board whose role is to coordinate the many and varied volunteer activities and to act as a liaison for the school teachers and staff with the students and families within our community. Our programs and activities include: the Fall Family Night, an evening of fun and food for the entire family; our Walk-A-Thon, a fundraising relay event where all children are encouraged to dress-up and participate in fundraising; special school events such as International Night, an incredible evening showcasing our community's diverse and rich tapestry of immigrants and proud descendants from innumerable nations around the world; our Peer Buddies Program, a program is to help all students feel included at school by fostering one-on-one friendships between a 4th-grade student and a younger or same age student with special needs; our Progressive Dinner, a parents' night out of food, drinks and fun; and finally, the many classroom and volunteer opportunities that abound at Lyles, coordinated by the parents and teachers alike.
