A note from our principal, Dr. Zissios

Dear LCTA Families;

I ask PTA to limit the “ask” of our parents to one big fundraising event, our upcoming LION FEST on October 31st! While it is important that we raise these necessary funds for our school, I did not want fundraising for our school to be a year-long initiative. I want to get back to our core foundation and focus on the principles of our “R.O.A.R.S” program and working with a myriad of organizations supporting important charitable initiatives in our community through the school.

100% of the money raised through the PTA goes back to the school and supports us where our district funding falls short. The PTA serves many important functions in our school, but their fundraising supports curriculum materials, staff professional development, special assemblies, field trips, workshops, classroom supplies and equipment not to mention the many important character-building programs that support the education of the whole child.

I tasked the PTA with a tall endeavor: to raise $50,000 through our LION FEST fundraiser. Through this event, we hope to involve all of our students, with a goal of engaging one hundred percent of our families in this fundraiser.

I am asking you to get behind this effort and help us reach our fundraising goal. It promises to be a fun day for your children and our families, promoting health and wellness and celebrating the Fall season. There will be no raffle ticket sales, wrapping paper or check writing campaigns to come in the following months. Just this one important day to give back to your school.

Please join me in supporting our PTA and sponsoring your child/children with a tax-deductible donation.

Thank you,

Dr. Zissios
