Current and Upcoming LCTA PTA Happenings

Thank you to the families who came out in support of the Garden Clean-up this past Saturday.

A big thank you to Matias Palavecino and Molly Groom for leading the efforts; cleaning up LCTA gardens, mulching the beds and butterfly gardens at LCTA and helping pot plants to be distributed to local nursing homes

Legacy T-Shirts are here!

T-shirts designed by our firth grade students are available for sale. Look for the PTA table selling shirts outside school on Tuesday mornings 7:30am (drop off) and Thursday afternoons at 2:30pm (pick-up). $15 a shirt-cash, charge or check. Last year’s inventory is also for sale at $5.

2019-2020 School Supplies

LCTA, your PTA and Sprout School Supplies are partnering to provide parents a convenient way to purchase school supplies for next year!  Yes, you can buy next year's school supplies right now.  Visit www.sproutsupplies.com/supplykits and use code LCTA001.   This is a win-win-win opportunity.  Win for the parents - no going to multiple stores to find supplies. Win for teachers - kids have the requested supplies. Win for the students - the PTA earns 10% of each kit to help supplement our school where district funding falls short.

Please join "the Mighty Declan" and his family on Saturday, June 1st at 10 am at the FDR Ceremonial Loop for the annual One Small Step walk for Prader-Willi Research!  LCTA first grader Declan Shelton has the genetic condition Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), and every year since his birth his family has helped organize and support the DC edition of the One Small Step effort, which raises critical funds needed for life-changing research so that one day, Declan and all those with PWS may lead FULL and independent lives.  Please read more about Declan's story at act.fpwr.org/goto/mightydeclan.   Walk day details are posted at act.fpwr.org/washingtondc2019.   Please reach out to Declan's mom, Allison Shelton, with any questions (703-867-7620, allison.shelton@gmail.com).  You do not need to donate to join the walk -- you can just show up!  Declan and his family would be absolutely thrilled to have LCTA friends at the walk!!
